If you are a new client, it is especially important for you disclose your hair history to your stylist. Just like when seeing a new doctor for the first time, providing your information and history will help get the best treatment for you. Filling out a new client salon consultation form is an easy way for your stylist to get to know your hair better. Questions such as: “Have you had a perm or chemical relaxing?” will help your stylist have a better understanding of what your hair needs, and more importantly what your hair DOESN’T need. Some of the questions may not apply to you, and others may strike up things that you wouldn’t think to mention. Often times clients fail to mention previous services done both professionally and “at home”. This could result in the desired look not being fully achieved, or worst-case scenario, damage and breakage to your hair. Your stylist is not here to judge your past hair choices, so don’t be afraid to fess up. Trust that full disclosure of your hair history will only make for a better hair future.
