As an on location hair and makeup artist for the last 15 years, I am always in search of the perfect bag to transport my kits from event to event. I have tried every possible travel option out there from craft kits to regular luggage.
In my search for the perfect bag/s, there are always a few things I look for, as must haves. Functionality, storage, weight and of course the overall esthetics of the bag are always where I start.
I wanted to upgrade my travel gear to pieces that were both multi-functional and would have the capability to connect my makeup kit to my hair kit. Having owned, used and loved Zuca products for years, I knew that it was a product line that would fit many of my “must haves”.

This three-pound backpack is equipped with four clear built in storage pouches, awesome for pins and clips, and two clear removable pouches great for my favorite styling products. I love the amount of tools and products that easily fit in the backpack.
My two favorite features of this backpack are the thermal pocket and access strap. The thermal pocket makes moving or leaving locations easy without waiting for tools to cool.
The access strap allows the bag to remain open so I can work directly from the bag and helps in minimizing having to fully unpack and pack on location. This will be great for the smaller locations that I visit where there is limited space to lay my kit out. I can keep my work area clean and put it anywhere because of its great compact size.

The Zuca Artist Flyer is an upgrade from my last Zuca roller bag. My previous Zuca Pro bag has been by my side for the last six years and I knew this upgrade would allow me even more space with the same awesome functionality. This bag literally goes everywhere so it needs to be durable, strong without being to heavy to lift in and out of the car and carry up stairs depending on the location. It’s water resistant from those wet rainy days and even has shock absorbent wheels; awesome for quite entrances and departures (i.e. running out during speech time and video is rolling).
The alloy frame doubles as a chair for a place to sit while I am doing makeup applications and the many storage pouches provided make it easy for me to have my entire kit neatly organized. I love that this bag meets the FFA specifications as a carry-on baggage so I can fly with comfort knowing that my invaluable kit is safe and with me at all times.
