Calling All Small Businesses!

As a small, locally run Rhode Island business, we see the need to support those other local businesses around us!

We are currently looking for small businesses on & surrounding Aquidneck Island — even elsewhere in New England!–heck, even ABROAD– to feature on our blog, facebook, twitter, and website! :)  Jennie Kay Beauty uses social media platforms to connect with our audiences, spread the word about current specials, our business, trends, fashions, beauty, tips and more, as a successful way to engage with our fans. We are looking for giveaway product donations ranging from $10-$50 in retail value, as fan prizes for participating in our online quizzes and contests. Items such as: photos, images, beauty products, skincare, clothing, tee shirts, bracelets, earrings, jewelry – to name a few.

Our contests have proven to be of great success in the past, giving us thousands of blog and social media hits. In donating and providing us with information to host your products, you will also allow us to promote and expand your name and product.

Something we are COOKING up…

So I have decided to create a hard cover LOOKBOOK for each year

Every year I will compile some of my favorite looks of the season and do it my way…The Jennie Kay way……This is what we have thus far

27 Things you Didn’t know about Jennie Kay

1. Jennie-Kay is  REALLY my first name

2. My last name was Murphy

3. I have styled hair on 27 Dresses and Bride Wars

4. I am 27

5. I am the only person behind the chair and the desk in the beauty parlour…. My beauty parlour has one chair..we like to keep it personal!!

6. My favorite color is orange and I love sequins

7. I have done Snoop Dogg’s makeup..yes this is true

8. We never advertised till this year ( STYLE ME PRETTY!!! yahooo what an honor!)

9. I am 5’2

10. I have lived in LA, NYC, FL, and RI

11. I am a makeup artist but I don’t really wear makeup

12.  I had a baby boy May 17, 2011 named Benson

13. We built our beauty parlour the same year we planned our wedding

14. I have worked on over 20 films, 5 Broadway shows, a few national commercials and countless number of weddings

15. I have been in the Hair and Makeup Union for Film, Television and Theater since I was 25  ( it was a big goal for me! )

17. I take AT LEAST  3 advanced classes a year

18. I have worked for MAC and Stila Cosmetics

19.  I have worked under some of the biggest names in the hair and makeup industry

20. I don’t only do weddings, I cut and color hair as well

21. I love that my last name is Plumb.. I feel like a storybook character Jennie Kay Plumb

22.  I  love wallpaper

23.  27 is my lucky number

24. We love that our beauty parlour is private and intimate

25. I went to the Fashion Institue of Technology in NYC

26. I have worked all over the country doing hair and makeup
